It’s your weekly Photo Gallery! Come on in, take a look at what people have been up to over the past week and share some of your own photos.
They don’t need to be taken with a fancy camera or works of art. Share any SFW photos you’ve taken with even the poorest of potatoes. Of course we love to see that arty stuff too.
Woke up late and was too tired anyways to hike up a mountain for some views, so I went for an easier hike.
There weren’t any big climbs but it wasn’t as easy as I expected. The kiosk in the lot showed a map like this:
A loop trail with two intersecting trails and all of them marked with yellow blazes. Normally, each individual trail would be marked with their own color to avoid any confusion, but it looked simple enough so I didn’t think much of it.
My original plan was to just hike the outer trail, so I figured I’d just go left when I came to a fork. That went out the window when I heard a creek and immediately went right. Finally making it back to the outer loop I went back to my original plan and went left at the next fork.
I have a pretty good sense of direction and I’m familiar with the area, so I started to suspect pretty early that I wasn’t heading where I thought I was. That was confirmed when the trail dead ended at a road that was nowhere near where I needed to be.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to use the same color to mark all the trails is an idjit. Hike ended up looking like this instead
Still had a blast and enjoyed the time outside. To the pikshurs!
It was an interesting place. Lots of dense canopy and random openness.
An old quarry.
There were some beautiful flahrs along the top ridge of the quarry.
and at the creek
It was so nice and cool by the creek.

Place was super pretty. Glad I got all turned around there.
