I don’t get to see trains very often and anytime I do I get silly excited. So going to a train museum had me smiling like a maniac the entire visit.

They have one the largest steam engines ever made there. A Union Pacific Big Boy. Seeing this when I was a little kid was awesome and largely responsible for my love of trains.

One of these is almost done being restored and should be back on the rails in a few months. Steam engines were phased out for good reason, but they are still super impressive pieces of engineering and I’m glad at least a few are kept around in running condition.

Hope they keep the creepy as heck whistle.
