It’s your weekly Photo Gallery! Come on in, take a look at what people have been up to over the past week and share some of your own photos.
They don’t need to be taken with a fancy camera or works of art. Share any SFW photos you’ve taken with even the poorest of potatoes. Of course we love to see that arty stuff too.
Had a hike planned for this week that didn’t quite work out. The forecast was for sunny skies and mid to high 50's. I got up early, as it was a bit of a ride, and set about my way.
There’s no parking lot just a small area off the shoulder. As I approached the pull off I noticed a few other vehicles. All pickup trucks. All pickup trucks with certain cosmetic and mechanical changes that point to a shared hobby among their owners. I check my map.
Turns out what I thought was a state park is state game lands and it’s deer season. I had no orange and even if I did I wasn’t going to chance it. I decided to explore the nearby town instead.
It’s a pretty neat place. There are ruins or some other old thing pretty much everywhere.
I finished exploring the small town pretty quickly. The sun and warmth never did show up, but with some daylight left I decided to go do a hike I did a few years ago.
I’d done this hike before but didn’t remember it seeming all that dangerous. Definitely not for kids or the unsurefooted but as long as you pay attention and take your time you should be fine. Turns out all the rain we’ve had hasn’t helped the trail any. It was sketchy AF.
There’s a trail there somewhere.
This is a lot steeper than it probably looks, and I don’t remember all those roots being completely exposed the last time I was here. All fours scrambles at a few places.
All that extra rain made the falls that much more spectacular.
I passed a young couple on the way up, but otherwise had the place to myself. It was wonderful.
Except for the bs forecast and change of destination, this was a fantastic day.
