Today on my way to work I ended up in the left lane on I-880 behind a Cadillac Escalade and for a few miles they derped along with their blinker on, as if they were driving around the world to the right. I would think that a luxury rig such as the Escalade would have a feature (e.g., a highly annoying sound or a wet willie) that warns the driver of a blinker being on for too long while at speed. I know this feature exists because I’ve been in cars with them, but what I don’t understand with technology being what it is today, is why this simple tech isn’t in EVERY vehicle.

Computers are ubiquitous in cars these days, so would adding a few more lines of code hurt anyone?

This event has me begging the question, what other obvious tech is missing from today’s vehicles?
