Illustration for article titled Gawker Gardening Blogs: Where do be for art thou?

Ah ha - it's not the season to be growing anything right now, what with all y'all's getting your small bits frozen off, but I don't know of any Gawker style blogs that have gardening, soil prep, Permaculture or discussions on food systems as a central theme. It comes up in some areas sporadically, but isn't consistent. Is there one that you know of?

I got inspired to touch on it more from the Salon interview article with Pollan here. There's plenty of places to go on the net, for sure, but was wondering about it in the context of this community and if people are reading about it around here.

My personal bent happens in the area of sustainability and survival if "everything" changes for whatever reason, whether that change be large or seemingly small (like oil going to $200/barrel - would I want to mow as much?) What would I need to live, what could I cobble together to support living from the junk of what's around me, etc.
