It goes without saying, but I'm gonna say it anyways.
I've been putting together a Ruby on Rails app as a portfolio piece in my slow-but-steady (I hope) transition to another career. I'm sort of planning on keeping a running tally of not necessarily useful, but maybe interesting tidbits as I go, like this one.
Today's tidbit is obvious: if you don't use it you lose it. I had a weekend full of extenuating circumstances, and since I still have a job I've found myself without the chance to sit down at my machine and write a single line of code for what will amount to an entire week by the time I'm able to get back to it. The end result? I don't really remember anything about my program, and as I try to work through solutions in my head and on paper at work I'm having trouble remembering simple methods and operations. Fun for the whole family.
So keep your coding muscles strong. Iterate over an array once a day...to keep the doctor away...?
