So I never really played live. Wasn't my thing. I played WoW for awhile, but never did ventrillo or any of those other "chat" programs on the side. I don't actually LIKE talking to people on the phone even...I played a text based RPG for many years because it was all typing and no talking to weirdos needed...

So today, my 10 year old was hanging on my couch playing halo with a few of his friends over xbox live. Hearing him scream things like "let me assasinate you" sorta disturbed me but....letting the violence go for a second, how old do y'all think kids should be before they have a modicum of freedom in terms of what and with whom they play games online? For example, he wants to play minecraft online, which I've not allowed him to do - because last I checked they was no way to restrict who could join a sever. Am I being old fashioned? I mean, at least with xbox (and mind you, I'm in the room with him) I know who it is he's "friends" with on there...

Thoughts? Opinions? Am I being an old fuddy duddy?
