Surprise! Otter, the guy who knows everything, (according to himself), want’s to ask the opinion of others on a question.
Tonight, I am making Shrimp Pad Thai.
*sigh* Yes....I cook. Yes, I’m actually pretty good at it. No, I don’t serve up big old plates of abalone and urchin to be cracked on your chest. No, I have never caused a single case of food poisoning that you know of. No, I do not permit ketchup anywhere near the food I prepare. Eat it the way I made it, or don’t eat it!
Now, where were we? Oh yes......Pad Thai. I am making it from scratch. (no...I don’t mean I heat up a boxed meal while scratching myself). I couldn’t find Thai Chilies at the local store. In fact, all they had were bell peppers and jalapenos. Since I want spice in my Pad Thai, which do you think would be better:
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- A combination of both 1 and 2
I’m leaning towards option 3, but it’s been a long time since I’ve had a good Pad Thai and I’ve never made it before. I’ve seen recipes that call for one, both and neither. So, opinions please.
